In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Provide advanced dentistry and oral surgery services for a diverse and complex referral caseload
  • Perform comprehensive oral examinations, diagnostic workups, and individualized treatment planning
  • Perform advanced dental and oral surgical procedures utilizing the hospital’s modern surgical infrastructure and imaging capabilities
  • Utilize CT, digital radiography, endoscopy, and other advanced diagnostics to support complex oral and maxillofacial cases
  • Collaborate closely with Surgery, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Emergency & Critical Care, and other specialty teams on multidisciplinary cases
  • Work alongside the hospital’s experienced emergency and critical care team when managing complex or medically compromised patients
  • Develop strong relationships with referring veterinarians and serve as a trusted resource for advanced dentistry and oral surgery throughout the region
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, prognosis, and ongoing care
  • Mentor technicians and support staff in advanced dental procedures, anesthesia considerations, patient monitoring, and postoperative care
  • Contribute to the continued growth and development of the Dentistry and Oral Surgery service
  • Participate in continuing education and knowledge-sharing opportunities within SOVSC and the broader Ethos network
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative hospital culture focused on exceptional patient care and clinical excellence
What You Bring
  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Oregon veterinary licensure
  • Board Certification in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery (DAVDC) or residency trained in Veterinary Dentistry and Oral Surgery and board eligible
  • Strong clinical and surgical skills with an interest in complex dentistry and oral surgery cases
