Job summary

Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a Critical Care Specialist (ECC) for our Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Hospital of Wichita in Wichita, KS. This full-time role involves managing high-acuity emergency and ICU patients, triage, and stabilization in a state-of-the-art facility.

You will lead interdisciplinary rounds, contribute to protocol development, and perform advanced therapies under optimal hospital resources.

Qualifications

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree with eligibility for Kansas licensure.
  • Board Certification in Emergency & Critical Care (DACVECC) or ACVECC-approved residency program.
  • Excellent communication and client-centered care.
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Manage high-acuity emergency and ICU patients, including triage and stabilization.

In your day-to-day, you will:
  • Manage high-acuity emergency and ICU patients, including triage and stabilization.
  • Lead or participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to protocol development.
  • Perform advanced therapies, including mechanical ventilation and other critical care procedures utilizing available hospital resources.
  • Support ongoing growth of the Emergency & Critical Care service and specialty programs.
  • Engage in continuing education and mentorship opportunities within the Ethos network.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams to provide seamless, compassionate patient care.
  • Communicate clearly and empathetically with pet owners during stressful and emotional situations.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture built on collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
What You Bring
