Job summary

Pacific Northwest Pet ER & Specialty Center in Vancouver, WA is seeking a Veterinary Criticalist to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. You will partner with an existing Criticalist and work closely with Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology and Imaging on a diverse caseload.

The role offers flexibility as either part-time or full-time, with a preference for 12-hour shifts, including receiving and inpatient responsibilities along with generous CE

Critical Care Opportunity

We are looking for a Veterinary Criticalist who values collaboration, mentorship, and a diverse caseload. In this role you will partner with an existing Criticalist and work closely with the Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology, and Imaging teams in a multidisciplinary environment. The position offers flexibility as either part‑time or full‑time, with a preference for 12‑hour shifts, and includes a combination of receiving and inpatient responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with an existing Criticalist to deliver critical care to patients.
  • Collaborate with the Emergency, Internal Medicine, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Oncology, and Imaging teams on case management.
  • Support a well‑equipped emergency critical care service that includes mechanical ventilation, high‑flow oxygen therapy, therapeutic plasma exchange, hemofiltration, and in‑house laboratory services such as digital cytology and VCM.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary care and mentorship of veterinary staff.
  • Provide clinical support in both receiving and inpatient roles.
