Job summary

The Humane Society of Southern Arizona is hiring a Clinic Technician to support the Spay/Neuter Clinic. You will assist in high-volume surgeries, vaccination clinics, patient check-in, surgical prep, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative care in a fast-paced animal shelter environment.

This role requires strong animal handling skills, knowledge of restraint, basic lab work, and experience with veterinary software.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; coursework/experience in companion animal surgery or high-volume spaying and neutering is required.
• Proficiency in animal restraint, aseptic technique, and basic lab handling demonstrated or learned.
• Must have a valid Arizona driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to the insurer.

Responsibilities

• Assist with high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics.
• Support veterinarians during exams, triage emergencies, and manage post-surgical care.
• Document medical records, prepare medications, and maintain clinic cleanliness and safety.
