Job summary

Santa Barbara Humane is seeking an experienced Assistant Veterinary Clinic Manager to support daily operations of the veterinary clinic. This working leadership role combines veterinary duties with staff supervision, onboarding, and workflow coordination to ensure high-quality patient care and exceptional client service.

The position involves guiding veterinary assistants and RVTs, maintaining medical records, overseeing inventory, and promoting a positive, collaborative workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of veterinary clinical experience as a Veterinary Assistant, RVT, or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary medical procedures, patient care, and animal handling.
• Experience with staff training, onboarding, or performance coaching preferable.

Responsibilities

• Supports the Clinic Manager with daily clinic operations and workflow coordination.
• Assists with staff scheduling and coverage planning.
• Provides day-to-day guidance and supervision to staff.
• Maintains accurate medical records and documentation.
• Promotes patient safety and client service excellence.
