Job summary

SAGE Concord, part of Ethos Veterinary Health, is seeking a Client Intake Coordinator for the Emergency Department daytime shift in Concord, CA. The role supports the care team by welcoming emergency clients, gathering histories, and coordinating quick, accurate triage and documentation.

Ideal candidates have at least two years in veterinary settings, strong communication skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. This full-time position offers a competitive hourly rate and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two years of clinical veterinary experience; emergency or specialty hospital experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and emergency patient care.
• Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and compassionate in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds or more and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for emergency clients, providing compassionate service during stressful situations.
• Triage incoming emergency cases and communicate critical information to the clinical team.
• Obtain patient histories and accurately document medical information in the electronic medical record.
• Assist with patient intake, including obtaining vital signs when appropriate.
• Coordinate closely with veterinarians and technicians to prioritize cases and maintain efficient patient flow.
• Accurately enter service charges during the intake process to support timely invoicing.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms for incoming emergency patients.
• Keep clients informed by providing updates and setting expectations throughout their visit.
• Support efficient shift transitions and daily Emergency Department operations.

Schedule: Wednesday–Saturday | 6:00 am - 4:30 pm

What You Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of clinical veterinary experience required; emergency or specialty hospital experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of veterinary terminology and emergency patient care.
• Excellent communication, client service, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organized, and compassionate in a fast-paced environment.

• Bilingual skills are a plus but not required.
