Job summary

Alliance Animal Health is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our team in Kentucky. The role involves restraining and handling patients, triage, collecting samples, assisting with imaging, anesthesia monitoring, and client communication.

You’ll help sustain clean treatment areas and support a high-volume veterinary practice. Preferred candidates have 1+ year in a veterinary setting, a compassionate and calm demeanor, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year veterinary assistant experience preferred.
• Comfortable restraining and handling pets.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely restraining and handling patients for examinations and procedures.
• Triaging incoming patients and obtaining accurate medical histories.
• Collecting, processing, and analyzing laboratory samples.
• Assisting with diagnostic imaging, including digital radiology.
• Providing nursing care and monitoring hospitalized patients.
• Administering medications and treatments as directed by the veterinary team.
• Communicating treatment plans and recommendations to clients.
• Preparing patients for surgery and assisting during procedures.
• Supporting anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery.
• Maintaining clean, organized treatment and patient care areas.
