Job summary

Oconomowoc Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support client and patient care across hospital services, including exams, procedures, dentistry, and outpatient care. The role offers variety and the chance to develop a well-rounded skillset.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary assistant or related experience preferred
• Proficiency in animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vital signs

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients
• Build positive client relationships through education and attentive service
• Maintain clean, organized exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
