Job summary

Moffett Veterinary Hospital in Mobile, AL is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support clinicians in a busy practice. Primary duties include restraining pets, triaging patients, collecting and analyzing lab samples, and assisting with imaging and anesthesia.

You will help manage medical and hospitalized cases, communicate treatment plans to clients, and participate in ongoing training and development. A minimum of 1 year of experience is preferred, with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience as Veterinary Assistant preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player and strong communicator.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Experience with sample collection, lab tests, radiographs and anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
• Self-starter eager to advance knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Triages incoming patients and restrains pets as needed.
• Collects and analyzes lab samples; performs diagnostic imaging.
• Provides nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Assists with medication administration and anesthesia monitoring.
• Communicates treatment plans clearly with clients.
• Prepares for surgery and assists during procedures.
