Job summary

Hudspeth Animal Hospital in Macon, GA is seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant to support our veterinarians and provide compassionate care to our animal patients in a busy practice. You will assist during examinations and procedures, prepare examination rooms and surgical areas, handle and restrain animals, administer medications, and educate pet owners on proper care and health maintenance.

High school diploma or equivalent; veterinary assistant certification preferred, and prior animal-care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; veterinary assistant certification preferred.
• Previous experience in a veterinary or animal care setting is a MUST.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for animal welfare.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures is advantageous.
• Must be able to lift and handle animals of various sizes.
• Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Compassionate demeanor and strong team collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures.

• Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostics.
