Archdale Animal Clinic in Archdale, North Carolina is seeking a Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our collaborative veterinary team.

You will provide hands-on patient care, client communication, and support for veterinarians and other technicians in a fast-paced hospital setting. Compensation and benefits are competitive, with opportunities for ongoing education and career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous veterinary hospital/animal care experience required.
• RVT credential preferred; VTNE eligibility a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures.
• Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients.
• Support patient intake, appointments, treatments, and discharge.
• Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
• Assist with radiographs, laboratory testing, and other diagnostics.
• Prepare patients for surgery and treatment; provide nursing care and monitoring.
• Administer medications and vaccinations as directed.
• Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation.
• Restock supplies and maintain an organized hospital.
• Provide client support and education on pet care and treatment instructions.

What You’ll Do

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with examinations, treatments, and medical procedures
• Safely handle and restrain canine and feline patients

• Maintain accurate medical records and patient documentation

• Provide compassionate client support and basic education regarding pet care, medications, and treatment instructions
• Communicate patient concerns and changes in condition to the medical team

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous veterinary hospital, animal clinic, or animal care experience required
• RVT credential preferred; veterinary technology education or VTNE eligibility a plus
• Strong animal handling, restraint, and patient-care skills
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, diagnostics, surgery, anesthesia, and hospitalized patients
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary hospital with dogs, cats, bodily fluids, medical equipment, cleaning products, and unexpected patient behavior
• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and remain active throughout the workday
• Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds with appropriate assistance
• Dependable, compassionate, professional, and committed to quality patient care

What We Offer

Compensation

Veterinary Assistant: $16-$18/hour, based on experience

Registered Veterinary Technician: $20-$23/hour, based on experience and qualifications
