VCA Legion Road Animal Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a 3-doctor, full-service hospital offering primary care, illness care, surgery and dentistry with a supportive, team-centered culture. We offer competitive wages ($15.00–$18.00/hour) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Schedule is 4x10 hour shifts with weekend rotation. Training and growth opportunities are available to help you advance in your career as a veterinary

Qualifications

• Must be positive and motivated.
• Credentialed veterinary technician preferred.
• Able to work 4 ten-hour shifts with weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Perform physical exams, patient assessment and recovery.
• Administer anesthesia and monitor procedures.
• Manage IV fluids and CRI calculations.
• Operate radiology equipment and diagnostic imaging.
• Communicate with clients and provide discharge instructions.

Compensation

$15.00 - $18.00 / hour is based on skill set, experience and licensure status.

Schedule

4 10‑hour shifts with weekends rotation required.

What You’ll Do

Whether you are a credentialed veterinary technician (CVT, RVT, LVT) or technician in training, we want you to use the knowledge that you’ve invested your time and talent in. The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:

Veterinary Technician Duties Include

• Physical examinations, patient assessment, and recovery
• Procedural anesthesia and monitoring
• IV fluid administration and CRI calculations
• Hands Free Radiology and diagnostic imaging
• Client communications and discharge
