Tarzana Pet Clinic in Tarzana, CA is seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant. The role offers $21.00-$24.00 per hour based on experience and credentials, with benefits and training opportunities.

You will support doctors with exams, treatments, anesthesia, lab work, and client communication to deliver trusted patient care. Ideal candidates bring at least 3+ years of clinical veterinary experience, ability to handle animals safely, and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience as a technician or assistant.
• Familiarity with Cornerstone practice management software.
• Experience with animal handling and restraint of cats and dogs.
• Ability to perform nursing care in a veterinary hospital setting.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Collect lab samples for urinalysis, cytology, bloodwork, fecal analysis.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments per doctor orders.
• Anesthesia monitoring and pre/post-operative care.
• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Digital radiology positioning and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments and surgical procedures.
• Learn to restrain animals during examinations and treatments; maintain hospital cleanliness.
• Prepare laboratory samples and administer medications per orders.
• Monitor anesthesia and provide pre/post-operative surgical care.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment.
• Collaborate with team to build lifelong relationships with clients and patients.
