Veterinary Medical Center of Woodland Hills is actively seeking a veterinary assistant in the Los Angeles area for full‑time or part‑time work. Pay ranges from $18.00 to $24.00 per hour, depending on experience, with a focus on compassionate animal handling and client communication.

Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians with surgeries, venipuncture, cystocentesis, radiography, and client education, while maintaining a clean, well‑stocked practice and ensuring patient comfort.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of veterinary assistant experience (training available).
• Comfortable communicating with clients and willing to develop this skill.
• Proficient in animal handling, restraint, IV catheter placement, venipuncture, radiography, surgical prep, cystocentesis, and basic medication knowledge.
• Positive, motivated, and supportive team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepare animals for examinations and procedures, including proper restraint and rooming.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians with surgeries, surgical recovery, and client education.
• Perform draws, venipuncture, and in‑house blood work (Idexx).
• Place IV catheters and obtain urine samples via cystocentesis.
• Obtain radiographs and assist with appointments and treatments.
• Provide demonstrations to owners (ear cleaning, medications, etc.).
• Generate medication labels and fill prescriptions.
• Perform cleaning and restocking of supplies.
