Job summary

Poulsbo Animal Clinic is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role offers hands-on work in both surgery and outpatient care, with a focus on client communication and compassionate patient handling.

You'll assist with surgical prep and recovery, maintain medical records, and support exam flow, while delivering high-quality care in a collaborative environment. This is a full-time, 4/10 schedule with no weekends.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience in a clinical setting.
• Proficiency in client communication, patient restraint, surgery and dental setup, and SQ/IM injections.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient prep and recovery during surgical and dental procedures.
• Maintain detailed medical records to support patient care.
• Support exam room workflow with outpatient care and appointment prep.
• Communicate with clients to check-in, review plans, and provide discharge instructions.
• Anticipate team needs to maintain an efficient schedule and high standard of care.
