Job summary

Doc Holly Pet Vet in Hayden, ID seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support clients and patients across all aspects of hospital care, including small and large animals. The role offers diverse work in patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures, with a fast-paced environment and a focus on compassionate care.

Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians, safe handling, preparing treatment areas, maintaining records, and educating clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant
• Proficiency in safe handling and restraint of dogs, cats, and large animals
• Assist with exams, treatments, blood draws, and outpatient procedures
• Experience collecting patient histories and vital signs
• Experience with surgical setup and assisting preferred but training available
• Compassionate, professional communication with clients and team members

Responsibilities

• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
