Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel assistant, or related role preferred.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments.
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients safely throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with surgical and dental procedures.
• Monitor patients throughout anesthesia and recovery.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for procedures.
• Maintain accurate surgical and treatment records.
• Guide clients through patient admission and discharge with confidence and compassion.
• Provide support for exams and outpatient procedures outside of surgical schedules.
• Support efficient workflow by anticipating the needs of patients and the veterinary team.
