Job summary

TEAM Hospital seeks a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians in delivering quality care for pets. You will educate clients, obtain histories, maintain charts, and assist in surgeries as allowed by state practice acts. The role emphasizes safety, efficiency and teamwork within a busy hospital.

The position requires NAVTA training certification or equivalent, and at least 18 years old with customer-service experience. Great growth potential and a supportive team are offered.

Qualifications

• Certificate NAVTA approved veterinary assistant program or the equivalent in education, training and experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old to perform radiography and related duties.
• One year related experience with customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians and technicians to ensure quality care.
• Educate clients about pet health and preventive care.
• Obtain patient history and maintain medical charts.
• Ensure safety by following protocols and maintaining clean areas.
• Assist with surgery as applicable.
• Mentor paraprofessionals in the hospital.
