Qualifications

• Prior veterinary or animal care experience is helpful but not required; we provide full training if dependable and coachable.
• Willingness to learn cleaning and disinfecting methods and equipment.
• Ability to appropriately handle and restrain animals.
• Ability to learn basic animal care, husbandry, and veterinary terminology.
• Ability to recognize abnormal conditions and communicate observations clearly.
• Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions.
• Ability to assist with lab work, radiographs, or other diagnostics once trained.
• Team-oriented with strong communication skills and a collaborative attitude.
• Willingness to work a variety of hours including evenings, overnight, and weekends; cross-train with CSR.
• Willingness to work at Castle Rock, Colorado location.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all hospital areas to create a clean, odor-free environment.
• Perform housekeeping and laundry duties for all areas of the hospital.
• Stock supplies and notify Inventory Manager of low stock.
• Maintain identification for each animal in the hospital.
• Provide basic care for outpatient, boarding, and hospitalized animals.
• Feed animals as prescribed and record appetite and illness signs.
• Observe animals for signs of illness or discomfort and report promptly.
• Restrain patients for procedures as trained.
• Assist with imaging, ultrasounds, and radiographs after training and badge.
• Clean equipment and follow sterilization protocols.
• Assist CSR with client interactions and care after training.
• Understand workflows and participate in training for lab and equipment duties.
• Assist CSR with front desk duties and client financial plans after training.
• Maintain a professional, cheerful attitude with clients and team.
