Joining the team at?Wake Vet allows you to work with canines and felines and acquire valuable experience in addressing various medical conditions while assisting with various procedures in Internal Medicine, Advanced Imaging and/or Oncology. Duties

• Procedure set up and break down
• Packaging samples to be sent to various laboratories
• Assisting in ultrasound
• Entering charges into Veterinary Software
• Client communication and interactions
• Triaging patients including basic and illness assessment, gathering patient information, and taking vital signs.
• Performing diagnostic testing including radiographs and lab work
• Assisting with ultrasounds
• Additional Lab Diagnostics
• Collecting and interpreting voicemails
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the work area
• Stocking inventory as needed
  
  

Required Skills/Abilities

• Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
• Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.
• Ability to provide high quality customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• Ability to work effectively with computers and electronics.
• EzVet experience a plus
  
  

Requirements

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift patients up to 40lbs throughout the workday with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to frequently lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push and squat
  
  

Education And Experience

• At least one year of veterinary experience as an assistant or technician preferred.
