Veterinary Assistant - Responsibilities Include
- Restraining animals safely and compassionately
- Triage of incoming patients and assisting in exams
- Collecting and processing lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, skin)
- Performing diagnostic imaging and radiographs
- Providing nursing care to hospitalized or medical patients
- Preparing for surgery, assisting during procedures, and managing anesthesia
- Administering medications and treatments as directed
- Effectively communicating treatment plans with clients
Veterinary Receptionist - Responsibilities Include
- Greeting clients and managing patient check-in and check-out
- Answering multi-line phone systems and scheduling appointments
- Processing payments and maintaining accurate medical records
- Handling prescription requests and coordinating with veterinary staff
- Supporting clients with empathy, especially during emotionally challenging visits
- Keeping the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming
Qualifications
Qualifications
- At least 1 year of customer service experience (veterinary preferred)
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of multitasking
- Professional, compassionate demeanor under pressure
- Familiarity with veterinary software and procedures a plus
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary experience required
- Surgical assistance experience preferred
- Strong work ethic and a positive team-focused attitude
- Skilled in patient restraint, lab procedures, and radiography
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities
- Eagerness to learn and grow professionally
- Ability to handle odors, noises, animal waste, and potentially contagious diseases
- Comfortable with occasional exposure to bites or scratches
