Job summary

Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and veterinary technicians, help maintain pet safety, and ensure continuity of high‑quality care for clients and patients. You'll promote preventive care, educate clients about Optimum Wellness Plans, and collaborate with a team to maintain clean, organized treatment areas while mentoring other staff.

Preferred NAVTA-certified education and a HS diploma are noted; the role offers learning and development

Qualifications

• NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program or equivalent and knowledge
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

Responsibilities

• Helping maintain the flow of patients
• Communicating with the veterinarian and vet techs
• Carrying out or setting up procedures that do not require veterinarian or vet tech assistance
• Adhering to hospital standards that keep pets safe, and the treatment areas, exam rooms and labs clean and organized
• Educating clients about our Optimum Wellness Plans and the importance of preventive care
• Mentoring other hospital team members
