Job summary

Riverside Drive Animal Care Center, a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner, seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant for a live-in, on-site position in Dublin, OH. This unique role includes a on-site apartment with rent and utilities paid.

Responsibilities include patient history/vitals, hospitalized-patient care, stocking supplies, and ensuring facility security. Evening/night shifts and weekends are required, with eight weekends off per year and holiday availability.

Qualifications

• Licensed RVT or veterinary assistant with 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills are essential.
• Flexible scheduling and teamwork are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient history and vitals collection.
• Care for hospitalized patients (walks, feeds, bedding, meds, IV fluids).
• Manage hospital cleanliness and stock levels.
• Ensure premises are secure at night and during updates.
• Oversee nightly and weekend treatments with planned time off for weekends and holidays.

Our practice has served as a full-service veterinary medical facility for cats and dogs for more than 25 years.In addition to our core offerings, we provide advanced services such as laparoscopic procedures, acupuncture, stem cell therapy, endoscopy, and specialized geriatric care to support the long-term health and comfort of our patients.

Riverside Drive Animal Care Center is looking for a Registered Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant to join the team as a live-in, onsite team member! This is a unique position where the candidate will live in an apartment on site--rent and utilities are PAID for this role.

Basic Veterinary Assistant (or RVT) tenant duties include:

• Obtain patient history/vitals
• Hospitalized patient care (walks, feedings, bedding changes, medication administration, monitoring iv fluid therapy)
• Stock hospital supplies and overall hospital cleanliness
• Ensuring the hospital is locked and alarm is set nightly
• Responsible for nightly and weekend treatments, with 8 weekends off a year, holiday availability is a MUST

Experience & Skill Requirements:

• Veterinary technician (RVT) licensure or pending licensure, experienced veterinary assistants, DVM or RVT students encouraged to apply.
• 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred
• Great communication and customer service skills

Compensation is negotiable based on credentials and experience with an hourly pay rate starting at $15-25 hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
