BluePearl Specialty + Emergency Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Neurology Veterinary Assistant.

Pay: $20.32 - $30.09/hr

This pay band is a starting point and depends on experience and advancement through our Kahuna leveling system.

We support our technician team in advancing their careers, with many specialized technicians in areas like Anesthesia, Internal Medicine, and Emergency/Critical Care. Applicants should have a strong knowledge base, motivation to learn, and ambition to work in a fast-paced team environment.

As a Neurology Veterinary Assistant, you will:

1. Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
2. Discharge patients, perform callbacks, and refill medications.
3. Educate clients, gather histories, and communicate findings to the Clinician.
4. Perform physical exams, accurately assessing vital parameters such as heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
5. Understand normal vital parameters.
6. Be comfortable with IVC placement and venipuncture.
7. Set up intravenous fluids.
8. Operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and troubleshoot errors.
9. Restrain patients during consults and diagnostics.
