Veterinary Surgical Centers in Vienna, VA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to grow with a board-certified Neurology and Surgery team. This full-time role offers rare hands-on experience across neurological patient care, diagnostics, surgical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, and post-operative recovery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of veterinary hospital experience.
• Hands-on experience with anesthesia monitoring is required.
• Proficiency with multi-parameter monitoring equipment and anesthetic agents.
• Experience in specialty, surgical, or neurology veterinary medicine is strongly preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist board-certified neurologists and surgeons during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
• Support neurological patient care including assessment and monitoring.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist with pre- and post-operative care across both specialties.
• Prepare surgical areas, sterile scrub and instrument setup.
• Take patient histories, monitor vitals, and manage discharge instructions.
• Perform in-hospital laboratory procedures and prepare specimens.
