Job summary

Small Door Veterinary, a membership-based clinic, seeks a veterinary assistant to join our collaborative team in a modern, stress-free setting with 24/7 telemedicine support. You will be part of a fast-paced environment focused on exceptional pet care and client service.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recording vitals, radiography, labs, medication prep and administration, plus maintaining compassionate care. Weekend availability and ability to lift 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to work Saturdays and other weekends.

Responsibilities

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assess patients.
• Record vitals and assist doctors with diagnostics.
• Complete treatments as instructed by the doctor.
• Provide basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitor changes in patients and provide compassionate care.
• Assist in radiography and prepare samples for labs.
• Run in-house labs and prepare medications.
• Administer medications.
• Participate in tele-triage shifts (additional stipend).
• Maintain a hospitable environment.

What you’ll do

• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
