At Small Door, nurses work in a collaborative network with a high doctor:nurse staffing ratio, supported by a 24/7 telehealth team and call center. We emphasize Fear Free care, AAHA accreditation, and a balanced, positive culture.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Availability on Saturdays.
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong communication with clients.

Responsibilities

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assess patients.
• Record vitals and assist with diagnostics.
• Complete treatments as directed by the doctor.
• Provide basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitor patients and provide compassionate care.
• Assist in radiography capture.
• Prepare samples for outside reference labs.
• Run in-house labs.
• Prepare and administer medications.
• Work tele-triage shifts (additional stipend).
• Support a hospitable environment.

What you’ll do

• Knowledge and ability to recognize medical emergencies and illnesses
• Assessing patients
