Job summary

Total Veterinary Care® in Kennesaw, GA, is seeking a dedicated full-time veterinary assistant/non-licensed vet tech to join our two-doctor general practice. This role offers a competitive hourly wage and benefits, with a rotating Saturday schedule and a minimum 30 hours per week.

You will assist DVMs in surgeries, exams, and workups, handle restraining, lab tasks, and client communications while growing your skills in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Has at least 12 months of full-time experience as a veterinary assistant in a general practice/small animal hospital.
• Demonstrates restraining techniques, in-house lab skills, catheter placement, blood draws, and accurate prescription filling.

Total Veterinary Care in Kennesaw (Greater Atlanta Area), a two-doctor, general day practice, is looking for a dedicated, motivated, and experienced full-time vet assistant/non-licensed vet tech to join our dynamic team.

Hiring range: $16 - $18 per hour, depending on experience and skill-level.

We Are Looking For Someone Who

• Has at least 1 FULL YEAR (12+ months) of full-time experience as a veterinary assistant in a general practice, small animal hospital
• Has the ability to demonstrate: proper restraining techniques, in-house laboratory skills, catheter placement, blood draws, ability to accurately fill prescriptions, etc.
• Has solid soft skills/people skills including: effective communication with clients and fellow team members, problem-solving, work ethic, maturity, time-management, etc.
• Has a solid understanding of preventative medications, medical terminology and calculations, and a passion for client education
• Takes initiative by preparing for appointments, taking medical histories, assisting DVMs in surgery, exams, and diagnostic workups
• Can demonstrate efficient organization and the ability to pay attention to multiple details
• Wants to learn new skills and is focused on using them to advance their careers for the betterment of themselves, their team, and the clients and patients we serve
• Has a positive attitude and is an effective and respectful team player
