Cornerstone Animal Hospital in North Richland Hills, TX is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Technician for a hybrid role combining kennel duties with hands-on veterinary assisting. No veterinary experience is required for the right candidate, with training provided to grow into the veterinary assistant role.

Responsibilities include caring for hospitalized and boarding pets, assisting veterinarians during exams, maintaining clean exam rooms, and supporting client service

• 1+ year experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred

Veterinary Assistant / Kennel Technician

Cornerstone Animal Hospital is looking for a compassionate, hardworking team member to join our hospital in a hybrid role that combines veterinary kennel assistant duties with hands‑on veterinary assistant responsibilities.This position is perfect for someone who enjoys caring for pets, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and is interested in building a career in veterinary medicine. No veterinary experience is required for the right candidate. We are willing to train motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow into a veterinary assistant role.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide daily care, feeding, and cleaning for hospitalized and boarding pets
• Walk, exercise, and monitor patients for comfort and well-being
• Restrain patients safely for examinations and treatments
• Assist veterinarians and technicians during appointments and procedures
• Prepare exam rooms and medical supplies
• Help with patient treatments, medication administration, and diagnostic procedures
• Support client service and patient care throughout the hospital

Schedule and Compensation :

• Compensation: $15-$17per hour, for each hour worked
• This is a full-time position, with availability needed Monday-Friday and rotating weekends. Schedules are: 3 weekdays (10-hour shifts), rotating Saturdays (7-hour shifts), and rotating Sunday treatments for boarding patients (am & pm).

Your Qualifications :

• 1+ of experience as a veterinary kennel assistant / kennel technician preferred
  • Will consider related experience within animal care such as boarding / doggy daycare attendant, FFA or 4H background
• A genuine passion for animal care and patient wellbeing
• Confidence working with dogs and cats of varying sizes and temperaments
  • Ability to safely handle, restrain, walk, and monitor animals under supervision
  • Strong awareness of animal behavior and willingness to learn patient safety and handling techniques
• Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
