Job summary

Marion Veterinary Hospital in Ocala, Florida, a two-doctor practice, seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant. The role includes restraint, triage, sample collection, imaging, nursing care, anesthesia, and client communication.

Qualifications

• Experience as a veterinary assistant (1+ year preferred).
• Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Proficiency in sample collection, taking histories, processing tests and radiographs is a bonus.
• Self-starter with desire to advance knowledge and skillset.

Responsibilities

• Handle pet restraint and triage incoming patients.
• Assist in diagnosis, imaging, nursing care and anesthesia management.
• Communicate treatment plans effectively with clients.
• Support surgical preparation and postoperative care.
