Small Door is seeking a veterinary assistant to join our team at our Manhattan area clinics. In a state‑of‑the‑art facility, you will support doctors with exams, diagnostics, treatments, radiography, and medication preparation while upholding Fear Free care and AAHA standards.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Availability to work weekends (Saturday or Sunday).
• Comfortable with computers and online tools.
• Strong communication with clients and compassionate pet care.

Responsibilities

• Recognize medical emergencies and illnesses.
• Assess patients and record vitals.
• Assist doctors with diagnostics and treatments.
• Prepare medications and samples for labs.
• Run in-house labs and assist radiography.
• Provide basic husbandry and nursing care.
• Monitor patient changes and offer compassionate care.
• Support tele-triage shifts (stipend).
• Maintain a hospitable environment for pets and clients.
