Pieper Veterinary in New Haven, CT is seeking a compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our Elm City Vet – Primary Care team. You will support doctors and technicians, assist with patient restraint, exams, treatments, and maintain hospital cleanliness to ensure a smooth daily workflow.

A strong emphasis on client service, teamwork, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced setting, plus prior experience in a veterinary environment, will help you thrive and grow with us as we deliver

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a veterinary setting.
• Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Ability to multi-task and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Compassion and patience when handling animals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Obtain and record vital signs and patient information.
• Assist veterinarians and technicians during procedures and appointments.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock treatment areas and exam rooms.
• Support client service and administrative tasks as needed.
