PAWSitive Veterinary of New York in Brooklyn is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support patient care, triage, lab sample collection, radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring. Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of veterinary assistant experience preferred.
- Compassionate, calm, team player, multitasker and strong communicator.
- Must be able to properly restrain pets.
- Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs, and anesthesia monitoring are a bonus.
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skills.
Responsibilities
- Pet restraint and triage incoming patients.
- Collection and analysis of lab samples and diagnostic imaging.
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying stability.
- Administration of medications and effective communication of treatment plans with clients.
- Surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.
- Potential exposure to odors, noises, bites, scratches, and contagious diseases.
