Job summary
Pawsitive Veterinary in Brooklyn, NY is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our small animal practice. You’ll assist with triage, patient restraint, lab work, imaging, and nursing care, while communicating clearly with clients. Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Veterinary Assistant experience.
- Compassionate, calm, team player, multi-tasker and strong communicator required.
- Must be able to properly restrain pets.
- Proficient in sample collection, obtaining medical histories, processing laboratory tests and radiographs; anesthesia monitoring is a bonus.
- Self-starter with the desire to continue to advance knowledge and skillset.
Responsibilities
- Pet restraint and triage of incoming patients.
- Collection and analysis of lab samples; diagnostic imaging.
- Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases.
- Administration of medications and communication of treatment plans with clients.
- Surgical preparation and assistance; anesthetic management.
