Briarwood Animal Hospital in Little Rock, AR is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our busy 3-doctor practice. You will assist with restraint, triage, lab work, imaging, anesthesia, and nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases, while communicating treatments to clients.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience as Veterinary Assistant preferred.
• Compassionate, calm, team player with good communication.
• Ability to properly restrain pets.
• Experience with sample collection, lab tests, radiographs; anesthesia monitoring a bonus.
• Self-motivated with desire to grow knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities

• Restrain pets safely during examinations and procedures.
• Triage incoming patients and collect/analyze lab samples.
• Perform diagnostic imaging and assist with anesthesia.
• Provide nursing care for medical and hospitalized cases.
• Communicate treatment plans clearly with clients.
• Assist in surgical preparation and anesthesia management.
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment with potential unpleasant smells/noises.
