Black Dog Veterinary Services in Bozeman, MT is seeking a motivated Veterinary Assistant to join our close-knit team. This full-time position offers a supportive environment with no weekends or after-hours, opportunities to work with technicians and doctors, and exposure to advanced surgeries, dentistry, and integrative care.

You’ll perform radiographs, lab work, patient history, and client communication while helping maintain a clean, organized hospital.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Excellent client and team communication skills.
• Compassionate, professional, and team-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and restrain patients for techs and DVMs using Fear Free techniques.
• Assist in taking diagnostic radiographs as needed.
• Perform TPRs and obtain patient history.
• Assist in the collection and processing of lab samples.
• Fill prescriptions and support outpatient care as needed.
• Assist with client communication.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the hospital.
• Clean kennels, restock, walk patients in hospital for care among other duties.
• Collaborate with team members to support smooth hospital flow.
• Assist technicians and DVMs as needed.
