Job summary

Fairgrounds Animal Hospital in Reno seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support client and patient care across hospital operations. You will help with exams, procedures, and outpatient services while maintaining records and communicating treatment plans clearly to clients.

The role offers a full-time 4/10 schedule, Monday through Friday, with compensation of $20–$24 per hour. Benefits include health, life, 401(k) match, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Proficiency with basic veterinary terminology and patient care.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus and valued.
• Strong attention to detail and dependable work ethic.
• Physical ability to stand, bend, lift, and restrain patients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, and surgical workflows.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
• Build positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service.
• Maintain clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces.
