Job summary

Moreland Animal Hospital in Moreland, GA is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support exceptional experiences for our clients and patients across hospital care, including patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures.

This is a flexible, full-time or part-time position, with a 5/8 schedule and availability Monday-Friday. Competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience as veterinary assistant or related role.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats.
• Experience with radiology, phlebotomy, injections, lab sample collection, and vital signs.
• Experience with surgical preparation, aseptic technique, and assisting during procedures.
• Accurate medical record documentation with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows.
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgeries, and dentistry.
• Provide safe patient handling and restraint during care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
• Monitor anesthesia and support recovery as directed by the team.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and radiography.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
• Review plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly.
