Creek’s Edge Animal Hospital in Hainesport, NJ is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with patient care, lab work, vaccines, and client education. The ideal candidate has Veterinary Assistant experience and can contribute to a warm, organized, and compassionate clinic environment.

This on-site position emphasizes teamwork, strong communication, and adherence to safety protocols, with a focus on high‑quality care for small animals within the Southern

Qualifications

• Prior Veterinary Assistant experience preferred.
• No weekends.
• Ability to lift patients up to 25 pounds; assist with heavier loads with help.
• OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
• Basic math and dosage calculations.
• Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams.
• Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in‑house laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer vaccines, medications, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock supplies and maintain equipment.
• Communicate with veterinarians and practice team about client discussions and patient plans.
• Any other duties as assigned.
