Job summary

Animal Medical Center of Saline is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our team and support experiences for our clients and patients across hospital care. This is a versatile role with opportunities to work in patient care, client service, surgery, dentistry, and outpatient procedures.

You will assist during exams, procedures, and dentistry, monitor anesthesia, maintain records, and help educate and comfort clients.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant experience preferred
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Experience taking patient histories, weights, and vital signs

Responsibilities

• Support efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Provide safe patient handling and restraint during care
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments
• Monitor anesthesia and support patient recovery
• Perform dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
• Maintain medical records and treatment documentation
• Discuss treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients
• Build positive client relationships through education and service
