Job summary

Stateline Animal Clinic in Mississippi seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exam room, surgical, dental, and outpatient workflows while delivering compassionate client service.

You will assist veterinarians during exams and procedures, maintain accurate medical records, and help educate clients to ensure exceptional patient care. This flexible position offers FT/PT options with a 4/10 schedule and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of veterinary assistant, animal care, kennel, or related role preferred
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint for dogs and cats
• Knowledge of basic veterinary terminology and patient care principles
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments, and outpatient procedures
• Experience collecting patient histories and obtaining weights and vital signs desired
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
• Follow established protocols with attention to detail and multitasking in a fast-paced environment
• Professional, compassionate client communication and dependable attendance

Responsibilities

• Supporting efficient exam room, outpatient, surgical, and dental workflows
• Assisting veterinarians during exams, treatments, surgical procedures, and dentistry
• Providing safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care
• Preparing patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures
• Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation
• Reviewing treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately
• Building positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service
• Maintaining clean, organized, and fully prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces
