Ohana Urgent Care in Ventura, CA seeks an experienced Veterinary Assistant to support exams, treatments, and surgical procedures in a fast-paced hospital setting.

This full-time role features a 4/10 schedule with Monday–Saturday availability, assisting veterinarians, handling patients, preparing rooms, maintaining records, and educating clients to ensure exceptional patient care and client service.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as a veterinary assistant.
• Proficiency in safe animal handling and restraint.
• Ability to assist with exams, treatments and outpatient procedures.
• Ability to maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Provide safe, gentle patient handling and restraint during outpatient and procedural care.
• Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for appointments and procedures.
• Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation.
• Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients clearly and compassionately.
• Build positive client relationships through education, communication, and attentive service.
• Maintain clean, organized, and prepared exam rooms, treatment areas, and procedural spaces.
