Sun Valley is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support a busy general practice. You will room patients, assist veterinarians, collect samples, administer vaccines, and keep accurate records while delivering compassionate client care.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of veterinary assistant experience.
• Strong communicator with a warm, client-focused approach.
• Detail-oriented, team-minded, and able to work in a fast-paced general practice.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain thorough medical histories from pet owners.
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments and assist veterinarians during examinations.
• Provide routine patient care, administer vaccines, and safely restrain patients for exams and treatments.
• Collect laboratory samples, perform blood draws, run in-house laboratory diagnostics, and prepare samples for outside laboratories.
• Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely documentation of patient care.
• Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms and treatment areas to support daily hospital operations.
• Support a variable caseload depending on seasonal demand while maintaining efficient workflow.
• Assist with scheduling, client check-in/check-out, answering phones, and other duties as assigned.
