Sun Valley Pet Hospital in Sun Valley, CA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our busy, community-focused hospital. You will support veterinarians during exams, prepare rooms, and educate clients on medications and care.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain thorough medical histories from pet owners
• Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments and assist veterinarians during examinations
• Provide routine patient care, administer vaccines, and restrain patients for exams and treatments
• Collect laboratory samples, perform blood draws, run in-house diagnostics, and prepare samples for outside laboratories
• Educate clients on medications, preventive care, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure timely documentation of patient care
• Clean, stock, and organize exam rooms and treatment areas to support daily hospital operations
• Support a variable caseload depending on seasonal demand while maintaining efficient workflow
• Assist with scheduling, client check-in/check-out, answering phones, and other duties as assigned

Schedule

• 8am-6pm - Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday

Key Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain thorough medical histories from pet owners

• Minimum 1–2 years' Veterinary Assistant experience
