Qualifications

• 1 year of general practice or emergency veterinary experience.
• Able to stand, lift, and work a minimum of 8 hours.
• Experience restraining a variety of canine, feline, and exotic species.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Own transportation.
• Ability to document general well-being of in-hospital patients and boarders.

Responsibilities

• Caring for special needs patients such as diabetics, geriatrics, epileptics, etc.
• Restraining a variety of canine, feline, and exotic species for doctors and techs.
• Cleaning duties: sweeping, mopping, cages, dishes, garbage, surgical/dental areas.
• Administering oral medications.
• Documentation of patient well-being during hospitalization.
• Assisting with ER protocol and prepping ER table for emergencies.
• Preparing surgical material with the surgical handbook and sterilization.
• Assisting LVTs with TPRs and blood pressures; check incisions.
• Triaging emergency appointments with the ER doctor on-site.
• Capturing radiographs including thorax and abdomen views.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Caring for special needs borders such as diabetics, geriatrics, epileptics, etc.
• Restraining a variety of canine, feline, and exotic species for the doctors and technicians
• Cleaning (Sweeping, Mopping, cages, dishes, garbage, surgical site, dental Suite, etc.)
• Administering oral medications
• Documentation of general well-being of in-hospital patients and boarders
• Assisting with Er protocol, ensuring ER table is prepared for crashing patients
• Preparing surgical material in coordination with the surgical handbook (ensure materials are sterilized and prepared for procedures)
• Assisting LVTs with TPRs & blood pressures. examining incisions for cleanliness and closure
• Triaging emergency appointments in coordination with the ER doctor on-premises.
• Capturing various types of radiographs including but not limited to the thorax and abdominal views

• Ability to write neatly, communicate well with others, attend staff meetings, and adhere to training programs
• Own transportation
