Job summary

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Monterey, CA is seeking a Veterinary Assistant for our busy Emergency and Internal Medicine departments. The role is rotating, with shifts in Internal Medicine and Emergency, starting early morning and ending in the evening. We offer a competency-based pay scale and a Saturday shift differential of $4.00.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, able to multitask, and thrives in a team-focused environment in a teaching hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Calmly and gently approach and handle our patients according to safety protocols and our core values
• Identify abnormal pathology
• Understand hospital estimates and clearly present them to clients
• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns
• Educate clients in Internal Medicine and provide exceptional care for our patients
• Prepare medications and discharge instructions for patients/clients
• Support the Internal Medicine team in all aspects of care for patients

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Monterey, CA is hiring a detail-oriented, multitasking, team-focused Veterinary Assistant for our busy Emergency and Internal Medicine department on a rotating schedule!

Schedule:

Tuesday + Wednesday in Internal Medicine, Friday + Saturday in Emergency. 7:30am-6pm (4/10s)

Pay:

$23 - $33 / hour

Pay is dependent on experience and leveling through a competency system.

Shift Differential offered for Saturday: $4.00

The Internal Medical Service attends to a wide variety of cases and manages complex long-term disease processes. Assistants in this service will assist their team in all medical and endoscopic procedures associated with maintaining and stabilizing their patients.

As a Veterinary Assistant, You Will

• Educate clients in the areas of Internal Medicine and can provide exceptional care for our patients
• Prepare medications and our patients/clients for discharge with concise directions for our clients
• Support your Internal Medicine team in all aspects of care for your patients
