Job description

BluePearl is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Overnight Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced Emergency department in Tukwila, WA.

Schedule: Swing and Overnight Shifts Available

VA II Pay: $21.25 - $31.45 / hour

This pay band is a starting point and is dependent on experience and advancement through the CareerTrax leveling system. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked during nights and weekends.

Shift Differentials (based on a 4-hour minimum):

• Mon - Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.00 Shift Differential

As a Veterinary Assistant, you will:

• Intake and triage of incoming patients
• Perform initial orders per a clinician
• Admit patients for hospitalization
• Communicate effectively with clients via phone and face-to-face
• Assist in sedated procedures
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds
• Administer medications via appropriate routes and durations
• Take vitals accurately, including heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort
• Stock, clean, and handle laundry as needed
• Perform skills such as radiographs, phlebotomy, placing IV catheters, etc., per Washington state guidelines
