Purdue University’s Purdue Veterinary Hospital in West Lafayette, IN is hiring a Veterinary Assistant for our Emergency and Critical Care team. You will assist with patient care, restraint, triage, and during emergency procedures, and help with stocking and cleaning to keep the service running around the clock.
Qualified candidates have a high school diploma/GED and at least four years of veterinary experience; strong English communication skills and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Veterinary Assistant (Emergency/Critical Care)

Purdue Veterinary Hospital is hiring an amazing Veterinary Assistant to support our Emergency and Critical Care team. The Emergency and Critical Care teams provide 24-hour support to pets and their owners. Veterinary Assistants will be responsible for patient care (walking, feeding, and cleaning), patient restraint for physical exams and sample collection, emergency triage, and assistance during a variety of emergency procedures. This team also keeps the service running by stocking and ordering supplies, cleaning, and alerting the nursing team to any observed patient concerns.
All members of the team are respected for their knowledge and experience and recognized for their contributions to fantastic patient care. Veterinary assistants provide around-the-clock care, and schedules may rotate through day/night shifts as well as weekends and holidays. Schedules will be discussed during the interview.
