Thrive Pet Healthcare is hiring a Veterinary Assistant – Emergency at Heart of Texas Veterinary ER & Specialty Center in Round Rock, TX. This full-time position supports urgent patient care in a fast-paced emergency and specialty hospital, with weekend and night shifts.

You will assist with basic patient care, animal restraint, triage, lab work, and medical record documentation, growing through ThriveU education, and benefiting from Thrive's nationwide network and generous benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic veterinary practices.

• Helping with basic patient care and husbandry (feeding, cleaning, comfort).
• Safely handling and restraining patients during exams, treatments, and procedures.
• Support accurate and timely medical record documentation.
• Performing basic laboratory tests and preparing samples as directed.
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked hospital environment.
• Ensuring exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment are prepared for patient care.

Veterinary Assistant – Emergency

Heart of Texas

Round Rock, TX

Full-time: Sunday and Monday 12pm-12am and Wednesday 4pm-4am.

Compensation is negotiable based on experience and credentials, with an expected starting range of $18/hour. The final pay will carefully consider a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

About You

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician Assistant, you’ll play an important role in supporting urgent and critical patient care in a fast‑paced emergency and specialty hospital. Your work will include hands‑on patient support, safe animal restraint, triage assistance, outpatient treatments, laboratory sample collection, diagnostic support, patient monitoring, and compassionate client service during emergency visits, admissions, and discharges.

Role Responsibilities

• Assisting with basic patient care and husbandry, including feeding, cleaning, and maintaining patient comfort
