Banfield Pet Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians, ensuring safety for pets and clients while maintaining hospital standards. You will educate clients on preventive care and Optimum Wellness Plans, and mentor other team members to uphold quality care.

The role emphasizes assisting with patient flow, communication with the veterinary team, and performing tasks that do not require doctor or tech supervision, within NAVTA guidelines.

Qualifications

Preferred NAVTA-approved veterinary assistant program certification or equivalent.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

Supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians to ensure quality care.
Helps maintain the flow of patients.
Communicates with veterinarians and vet techs.
Carries out procedures that do not require vet/tech assistance.
Adheres to hospital standards for safety, clean exam rooms and labs.
Educates clients about Optimum Wellness Plans and preventive care.
Mentors other hospital team members.
